While we’re all staying at home, a lot of us are watching things online. With the plethora of videos available, and more being created every day, it’s an enjoyable way to pass the time and bring a little fun into our lives. Some of these may be brand new, some may be older, but here are a few of the videos I enjoyed this week.
In anticipation of the finale of WandaVision this past week, Jimmy Fallon did his own version of the hot Disney+ series, showing the tv host skipping through the decades, until finally talking with stars Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn about their series.
Plenty of us have had pizza for breakfast, but have how many of us have had a pizza with cereal on it? Fong’s Pizza in Des Moines, Iowa has recently added the innovative pizza to its permanent menu, and it certainly does sound interesting! Would you be willing to give this a try? (Editor’s note: “Blasphemy.”)
Star Trek: The Next Generation is my favorite Star Trek series for many reasons, and one of the many gems the show gave us was the Riker Maneuver. The unique way star Jonathan Frakes sat down on the series continues to charm fans, so here’s a compilation of just a few times the Enterprise’s first officer sat down in an innovative way.
It’s fair to say that Star Wars has become a pop culture phenomenon in the decades since it first premiered in 1977, but what was it like at that time? The culture of movie-going was very different compared to what it is today, and it absolutely changed the movie industry. This video from Looper examines just how much it changed things, including first-hand accounts from fans and filmmakers alike.
Hawkeye might make it look easy, but archery can be an extremely hard skill to master. Danish archer Lars Andersen recently pulled off what he calls “the world’s most difficult trick shot” and I think you’d be hard-pressed to find one more difficult and impressive than this. He first breaks the shot down into its five elements, then puts them all together in the end!
One of the few joys this past year has brought is seeing animals from zoos and aquariums explore new environments, as their caretakers seek to give them new experiences amid the many shutdowns. One of the latest ones is penguins from the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago visiting the FRIENDS Experience, which gives fans the chance to walk through some of their favorite sets from the iconic sitcom.
Studio Ghibli is well-known for its incredible animation a storytelling, and this video from HBO Max gives us a calming loop of the studio’s most serene and bucolic scenes.
