[Video] What We Watched: Fun Clips from the Past Week – January 11 – 17

While we’re all staying at home, a lot of us are watching things online. With the plethora of videos available, and more being created every day, it’s an enjoyable way to pass the time and bring a little fun into our lives. Some of these may be brand new, some may be older, but here are a few of the videos I enjoyed this week.

The internet was recently agog of the news that Viennetta ice cream cakes will be made available again in the coming year. It was apparently something before my time, but who doesn’t love ice cream cake?

Boston Dynamics recently filmed a video of its robots all dancing together, and I have to say that it is just delightful!

Engineers on YouTube certainly has found a niche of recreating items from our favorite movies, and this is no exception. It might have been thought that Hawkeye’s rotating quiver that allows him to select the trick arrow he uses was pure fiction, but JLaservideo proves that it isn’t, building his bow, quiver and arrows, and testing them out for our enjoyment!

If you could make the ultimate dish for your friend, what would you make and how expensive would it be? In a new series on the Watcher YouTube channel, Stephen Lim makes the ultimate macaroni and cheese dish for his friend Shane, costing approximately $300! While you might not be able to make something exactly like that yourself, you may pick up a tip or two for making your next batch of mac & cheese just a little bit better.

What does the world’s largest firework look like? Well, as you can see in the video below, it sets off quite a display. The 2,800 pound firework was set off last February over Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and it was a sight to behold, lighting up the mountain in bright red light and a sizeable blast. The pyrotechnic itself was nearly five feet in diameter, with just the shell being over 7 inches thick!

Queen’s Gambit was one the hit Netflix shows from the end of last year, and this behind-the-scenes video shows the making of the series, from the idea to make this series, and through filming.

On the subject of Netflix, the streaming service recently announced that it would be releasing a new original movie every week of 2021. As you can see in the video below, some are sequels to previous Netflix movies, but others are all-new, and feature some of your favorite stars like Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds, Melisaa McCarthy, Halle Berry, and more!

TikTok has become a hub of silliness, fun, and creativity, and thanks to the app’s Duet feature, 2021 has been dubbed “the year of the sea shanty”. It all started with a Scottish singer posting a video of himself singing the sea shanty “Wellerman”, and has gone viral, spawning many versions, as well as users turning popular songs into sea shanties.
