The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) happened over the weekend of April 26-28. This is one of the biggest cosplay events in the midwest.
This is the first official day of convention, even though I came in last night. Getting a hotel room makes the con experience a little pricier, but much more relaxing. You don’t have to worry about traffic or hurrying up to get to the con when the doors open. You already have everything and can wander down at your leisure.

I stayed at the Marriott, which is a little bit of a walk, but overall a more relaxing experience. I didn’t have to fight for elevators. The hotel was quiet and the beds were comfortable. It’s also a little bit cheaper, which in Chicago isn’t a whole lot. Parking isn’t included in your hotel room, but the convenience of having your vehicle there is worth it.
Rate the Con
Our new thing for 2024 is to ask our readers to take a poll on some basic components of the con. We want to know how you rate the parking, the vendors and the food. The poll closes after 30 days and we will use this as a baseline for next years convention. We hope to eventually have a rating system set up for many of the conventions.
FOOD
(16 Votes)
PARKING
(17 Votes)
VENDORS
(16 Votes)
We realize that these don’t apply to all conventions, so if they don’t apply to your con, give them a 5 star.
**Later additions to the rating systems will include things such as guests and ticket prices**
This is my favorite convention every year. I get to meet new friends, hang out with old ones, and show off some new cosplays. This year, I did Senjutsu from Iron Maiden, “Axe-Hand” Morgan from One Piece, Kraglin from Guardians of the Galaxy, and on Sunday I was part of the Deadpool Mariachi. It’s always fun to cosplay, though I think I like building them better.
I am always awed by the cosplays I see at con. In my opinion, C2E2 has some of the best cosplayers. They love what they do, have fantastic imaginations, and do a great job showing their fandoms.
