The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) was this weekend (April 26-28). And we have some great C2E2 2024 Cosplay Photos.
Friday was the first day of the convention. To celebrate its fifteenth year, the theme of the year was “Celebrating 15 Years of Fantasy”. This was also my 10th year attending, and it lived up to its name.
A bit of reorganizing was done this year. They moved Writer’s Block from its usual place near Artist Alley to the other side of the floor near the first set of escalators. It seems this might have increased exposure for them, as it was more part of the main vendors area rather than tucked in at the top of Artist Alley, but heard mixed opinions.

Right by the entrance was a mega-booth for Funko, Loungefly, and Mondo, allowing many con-goers to grab those in-demand con exclusives in one spot. There was actually an overflow line that skipped over the lobby and sat in the Queue Hall. For the most part this seemed to be a good decision because no doubt the lines could have caused major congestion on the floor.
Rate the Con
Our new thing for 2024 is to ask our readers to take a poll on some basic components of the con. We want to know how you rate the parking, the vendors and the food. The poll closes after 30 days and we will use this as a baseline for next years convention. We hope to eventually have a rating system set up for many of the conventions.
FOOD
(16 Votes)
PARKING
(17 Votes)
VENDORS
(16 Votes)
We realize that these don’t apply to all conventions, so if they don’t apply to your con, give them a 5 star.
**Later additions to the rating systems will include things such as guests and ticket prices**
The Yard was still present. It provided a space for attendees to relax, grab an adult beverage if they were old enough, and hang out for a while in the middle of the show floor for a break from all the fun.
Cosplay Central and the far end of the show floor was a bit different as well. There was no Maid Cafe but there was plenty of space for attendees to play in the gaming and LARP spaces. All three areas went back almost as far as the beginning of the celebrity alley.
“More” seemed to be a running theme this year, as there seemed to be more of everything. There were more booths, programming, space between aisles and more spread out sections such as Cosplay Central, Artist Alley, and Family HQ. This wasn’t a bad thing, as there seemed to be more people than ever. Even on days when attendance is typically lighter, it seemed like it was wall-to-wall people.
Speaking of people, plenty of those in attendance were decked out in cosplay from the start of Day 1. Here are a few of the photos I managed to capture that day.
