For years, dinosaurs and dino-mania have held the world in wonder and excitement. Even in the 21st century, society still fawns over these magnificent prehistoric beasts through films, TV programs, and, yes, even graphic novels. That is where Fabrice Erre and Sylvain Savoia come in. This HC is delightful, with its gorgeous artwork and script showcasing the paleontology timeline for young audiences. Come along and get ready to dive back in time with Discovery of the Dinosaurs.

Writing:

Trying to summarize Fabrice’s writing spread across the previous 14 volumes of Magical History Tour would be a bit of an undertaking. However, as a newcomer to this series, one thing is apparent immediately… Fabrice pours his heart into carefully studying and compiling each volume’s most pertinent and essential faces. He carefully integrates the vast amount of history. He presents it, as seen through the eyes of Annie and Nico, in a manner that even the youngest early readers can understand and enjoy. It is a fun and fantastic script that speaks to his passion as a writer and educator.

Art:

Sylvain’s artwork is downright stunning. Every page was full of eye-popping layouts, rich in detail. In all seriousness, anyone who claims that graphic novels have no educational value in today’s world is just wrong. And it wasn’t just the artwork that drew my eye across each page. The facial expressions of every figure were vivid and full of life. Whether it was Annie and Nico or the actual historical persons who have propelled the study of dinosaurs across the ages, no one seemed bored or dull in this book. I was thoroughly delighted by the art within, and it has even piqued my interest to go pick up the previous collections, too.

Overall Assessment:

Dinosaurs have always presented a fascinating picture of the ancient world to modern society. Yet for the budding, would-be scientists and paleontology enthusiasts, the resources available to such young minds don’t often present a condensed picture of the history that has led to modern advancements in the field. That is where this delightful hardcover comes in, thanks to the creative dynamic duo of Fabrice and Sylvain. Parents and educators will love the book, and young readers will also get a thrill. So, don’t delay; order a copy today!
