The time has come for Donald Trump to face the music and money wont buy him what he wants this time. On Monday, the NBC network announced that it’s cutting all ties with the presidential hopeful following his recent comments about Mexican immigrants.

“Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC Universal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump, At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.” – NBC said in a statement about the firing.

This means NBC network won’t air the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which Trump co-owns, and Trump wont be able to “sue” the Univision television network as he has threatened to do. Donald Trump also will no longer host the “The Apprentice” TV show, but “The Celebrity Apprentice” is expected to continue — though now without the real estate mogul as host. A new “minor’ host is reported to be taking over duties when the show re-airs.

In a statement Trump, 69, explained

The move follows a very heated petition that called out NBC for choosing business over “ethics, principles and values” in the wake of comments Trump made during his presidential kickoff. The online petition quickly gained 200,000-plus signatures in just days.

The whole mess started when Trump (who is part owner of Miss Universe Organization), caused a stir with his comments during a presidential announcement Donald was attempting to launch. In the end Donald still found a way to shove his big foot in his mouth once again.

“the U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best.” He added, “They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” – Donald Trump.

The fallout all began last week when Colombian singer J Balvin canceled his planned performance at the Miss USA pageant. Roselyn Sanchez and Cristian De La Fuente soon refused to be co-host to the show, and finally Univision announced it wouldn’t air the pageant at all.
