Saturday weather was fantastic for the inaugural Fan Expo Chicago. The temperature was good, the sun wasn’t beating down on you, and you didn’t have to protect your cosplay from high winds or rain.

And yes, it is the first official Fan Expo Chicago. The claim of 50 years is a bit of a stretch, but they can technically make the claim. It’s a long convoluted story as the event went through several changes over the years. It became Wizard World in 1998 and was taken over by Fan Expo last year.

Saturday was not as packed as I thought it should be, but due to the layout it felt crowded. A lot of people had issues with the autograph and photo ops, as the lines were confusing, tight, and frequently ran into each other. There was also no set schedule for most celebrity’s autograph availability.

Today, Odin (aka Laird of Cosplay) and Monty Python’s Black Knight made and appearance and we had to hit up one of our favorite vendors – Chocolate Moonshine Co.
