[Cosplay Photos] Fan Expo Chicago – Friday (Pt. 3)

Friday was my first day at the new Fan Expo Chicago. Even for a Friday, it did not seem quite as busy as I expected, but everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was able to attend a panel by Cosawesome Studios featuring James Wulfgar of Wulfgar Weapons and LadyDragon Cosplay Creations talking about how to cosplay on a budget, but more on that later.

As previously mentioned, the layout of the convention was certainly different from past years, and could be quite confusing at times. There were uneven rows, which could be hard if you were trying to go through the convention in a methodical manner so that you saw everything, but it was easy enough to learn after a while. There were lots of vendors selling attractive and unique items, and a plethora of artists (if you could find Artist Alley) with distinct styles and art from varied fandoms. Even if you weren’t getting any autographs, photo ops, or attending any of the special events, it would have been easy to spend quite a lot of money over the course of the weekend!

The amount of cosplayers started out a bit slow, but certainly picked up by the time I got out of my panel in the morning. Unfortunately I did not personally take many photos since I was volunteering at a booth for League of Enchantment most of the day, but still managed to take a few and pose with some of my fellow Marvel cosplayers. One attendee was even kind enough to pay for me to take a photo with the Captain Carter shield that Shield Labs had at their booth!
