‘Doctor Who’ Star David Tennant to Headline ‘DuckTales’ Reboot

Last year, it was announced that Disney would be bringing back the series DuckTales to its Disney XD channel in 2017, and today the channel announced the actors on board by releasing a video of the cast singing along to the show’s iconic theme song:

Headlining the cast as Scrooge McDuck is none other than Doctor Who alum, and more recently Jessica Jones antagonist, David Tennant. If you know the actor at all, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that he would be able to pull off the Scottish brogue of the millionaire duck.

Tennant is joined by a cast of who’s-who including Community‘s Danny Pudi as Huey, Parks and Recreation‘s Ben Schwartz as Dewy, Saturday Night Live cast member Bobby Moynihan as Louie, SNL‘s Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, The Neighbors actress Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, and Garfunkel and Oates member Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack.

The series plans to also include familiar faces Donald Duck, Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, and Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys.

An official release date for the series has not yet been announced, but the new DuckTales will be released on Disney XD in the summer of 2017.
