C2E2 2022 – A Few of Our Favorite Things
On Friday, I arrived not long after the floor opened, and while there was an initial rush of people who had lined up, it took a while for things to fill in a bit. As such, I used the early part of the day to do an initial pass of the floor, learning the layout, and to walk through the uncrowded aisles of Artist Alley. In addition to Artist Alley and the Photo Ops/Autograph areas, some of the dedicated spaces included Cosplay Central, a space for playing board games, a video game area with lots of free-to-play video games, an Asian cultural space with a maid cafe and a place for demonstrations throughout the weekend, and The Yard – a space for trivia, Bingo, bags, and relaxing with friends. I even made a few early purchases in Artist Alley when I saw some pieces that I just couldn’t pass by.
In addition to all of this, there was in fact quite a bit of cosplay. Attendees didn’t hesitate to bring out some inventive and impressive costumes on the first day, some of which I’ve captured below.
