The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) returned to McCormick Place on August 5th-7th, 2022.
Friday was the first day of the convention and the first thing we saw as we entered the floor…
Apparently, the missing red carpet is now a permanent thing. I get it, it’s expensive, it also make everything have a reddish hue and it traps a lot of dirt and dust. This is definitely something I missed at the convention. By the end of the day, my feet and knees were screaming, as were those of several others I had spoken to. Other things I miss about the carpet was that it helped reduce the ambient noise and contained some of the dust. It definitely had a more consistent din and by the end of the day, I could smell the dust and dirt in the air. The carpet is definitely missed.

Other than that, it was a great first day of con. There were a lot of people and a lot of cosplay. A lot of old friends and new and everyone I met was in a good mood.
