Wizard World is coming to Chicago August 24th and we are trying to keep you updated on all the news with who’s coming and who’s going.
We had previously announced the Chicago Celebrity guest list, since then James Roday and Dule Hill have had to cancel their appearances.
However, they did bring in Cobie Smulders from Jack Reacher 2 and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Wizard World is also teasing us with more guests coming soon. The show is approaching fast, so I’m wondering who these new guests are?

he Age of the Geeks Cosplay Group are a group of seasoned Cosplayers that have come together to create and organize some of the premiere cosplay events in Chicago to provide a safe and inviting environment for the geek community. AoG tends to host and emcee cosplay contest as various Comic Cons, events and gatherings. Now The Age of the Geeks have expanded to their new brand AoG Orlando Florida. The Age of the Geeks are putting the “PLAY” back in COSPLAY.
Brit Bliss is a cosplayer, gamer, and model from Columbus, OH. After wanting to indulge her interests more, she began to use her sewing skills to bring her favorite video game characters and super heroes to life. To design her costumes, she drafts the majority of her patterns from scratch and then completes them. Each new character presents a unique challenge in order to keep testing and improving her abilities. What was once a hobby has now become a lifestyle for her. Her favorite fandoms from which to take inspiration for new costumes are Star Wars and Marvel. For Brit, cosplay is a way to say “thank you” to the creators of the characters she portrays
Laycee is a Chicago based model and cosplay entertainer. She began cosplaying in 2008 when her anime club took a field trip to a local convention. Since then, she has cosplayed dozens of characters from her favorite anime, comic books, video games, and Internet memes. Her hobbies include horror mangas, K-Pop music, and anything hello-kitty related.
Mogchelle started in cosplay by just being an average geek attending an anime convention in 1999. Her love for the artwork in anime, video games, and comic books made her want to bring the 2D images from the pages and screen to real life. She’s also been featured in several national and international magazines, and several online entertainment news sources for her costuming. Over the years she has won countless awards internationally for both craftsmanship and performance on the masters level, and is considered a master craftsman by the International Costumers Guild. Conventions across the country often ask Michelle to present panels/workshops on various topics within Cosplay. They vary from lightweight armor creation, thermoplastics, molding and casting, wig design, special FX makeup, wings, etc. More are added every year, in the effort to spread her love for Cosplay. She has done work for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Manga Entertainment, Studio Ironcat LLC, and video game, comic book, and anime publishers across the country. She can also be seen doing workshops for public libraries during the summer throughout the Midwest.
Every year, she chooses a charity organization to help raise funds for by donating a portion of the profits of her craft and print sales!
Morgan is a Cleveland based costumer, makeup artist, and performer who has been cosplaying for five years. What started off as a hobby evolved into something more as she became hooked on the convention scene and the art of cosplay. Her cosplays serve as a culmination of many different creative ventures. Morgan also works as a professional makeup artist and dancer in a traveling cabaret troupe. A lover of comics, video games, and animation, Morgan tries to create a positive and welcoming environment in the community.
Nicole Marie Jean is a cosplayer, artist, sculptor and designer from San Diego, California. Nicole began her journey into the cosplay and convention world in 2011. It was the previous year that she discovered what cosplay was. Nicole fell in love with the idea of being able to combine her love of comics and art to bring her favorite characters to life. During the past six years she has traveled around the world for a number of events and conventions as both an attendee and a guest. She has judged dozens of contests and has been a part of just as many panels and workshops. Nicole has won numerous awards for her costumes both at conventions and online.
Nicole has created over 100 costumes in the past six years and all are inspired by her favorite characters from comics, movies, books, video games and animes. Nicole is most well-known for her take on Bane from the Dark Knight Rises film, which gave her the nickname throughout the cosplay community as “Lady Bane.”
Pockytheif is a cosplayer, self-taught seamstress, and makeup artist from Chicago, Illinois. After going to her first convention in 2010 she’s fell in love with the hobby and began learning how to create her own costumes. She’s enjoys everything from sewing the simplest garment to making full armor or crazy large props. She strives to improve her craft by always trying to learn new and different techniques as well as utilizing many resources to help bring the outfits and the character to life. Cosplaying for her has been an outlet for her creativity to shine through. Her goal is to share her knowledge, skill, and passion for the hobby with everyone who enjoys cosplay too.
Casey McBroom, also known as “Shield Labs” is an Artist out of Kansas City Missouri that makes replica props and more for Cosplay and display. I make cool Stuff for cool People!
Termina Cosplay is a professional prop builder, cosplayer, and model from Indiana. She has been cosplaying since 2013 and has since created a life around what was once just a hobby. Termina loves the creative side of cosplay, and creates the majority of her costumes completely from scratch. From drafting the patterns to finishing touches, Termina loves the creative process and the freedom of artistic expression it gives. She has a particular fondness for creating her own, re-designed versions of existing characters, such as Pokemon gijnkas and genderbend characters. She also loves to help others learn, and devotes countless hours creating crafting tutorials and other resources for others to benefit from. She truly believes anyone can cosplay, and if she can help to encourage or inspire others in any way, then she considers that a success.
