Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a principal of a local charter high school who has a secret. He can harness and control electricity and was once known as the wanted vigilante Black Lightning.
Black Lightning is forced out of retirement when his daughter, Jennifer (China Anne McClain), is recruited by a local gang. Once again, he will be a wanted vigilante as he fights to protect his family and his home.
Based on the DC character created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden and coming to the CW next year with 13-episodes.

The show will star Nafessa Williams as Jefferson’s oldest daughter Anissa Pierce, Christine Adams as Jeffersons ex-wife Lynn Pierce, James Remar as Peter Gambi, Damon Gupton as Inspector Henderson, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III as Tobias Whale, and Kyanna Simone Simpson as Kiesha Henderson.
