On June 1, 2024, the city of Joliet, Illinois, and the Joliet Public Library once again transformed into a hub of galactic excitement and entertainment as it hosted the fifteenth annual Joliet Star Wars Day. Joliet Star Wars Day 2024 offered a day filled with unforgettable experiences for Star Wars fans of all ages.
Jedi, Sith, Stormtroopers, Wookies, Sand People, and Jawas converged for a day of lightsaber battles, games, music, movie prop exhibits, and, of course, a grand parade.
The Joliet Public Library’s annual Star Wars Day has grown beyond the library to encompass the whole town with events held in the Joliet Public Library, Joliet Area Historical Museum and the Renaissance Banquet Center There were also food vendors and tents set up in a local parking lot.
Despite the rainy weather, spirits were high as the event kicked off with the highly anticipated costume parade. The parade featured the 501st Legion Midwest Garrison, Rebel Legion, and the Chicago Jedi, showcasing an array of screen-accurate costumes and passionate fans.
