The Series 10 finale of Doctor Who still has Whovians buzzing. The sci-fi hit show ended on a particularly curious note. Sure it’s only July, but we’re already looking ahead to the always timeless (see what I did there?) Christmas Special.
ATTENTION: Spoilers ahead for the Series 10 finale The Doctor Falls
During the Series 10 finale, Peter Capaldi‘s Twelfth Doctor runs into an earlier regeneration in the First Doctor. Originally portrayed by William Hartnell, the Doctor is now Harry Potter (Argus Filch) alum David Bradley. Fans may recall Bradley appearing in the dramatization of the early years of Doctor Who in 2013’s TV movie An Adventure in Space and Time. David will star alongside Capaldi in what will sadly be his final episode as the Twelfth Doctor.
Showrunner Steven Moffat has been teasing fans about what may transpire this coming holiday season. In an exclusive interview with Doctor Who: The Fan Show – The Aftershow, the writer/producer spoke about the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special, including arriving on set, filming, an interesting note on Episode 11, World Enough And Time, and how taken aback he was by one actor’s performance for the holiday show.
