[Interview] SDCC 2019: Aubrey Sitterson & Fico Ossio of Dark Horse Comics’ NO ONE LEFT TO FIGHT

PopCultHQ made an appearance for a couple of days at this year’s 50th Annual Comic Con International: San Diego 2019. Knowing our time was limited, we knew we couldn’t spread ourselves too thin by conducting interviews from multiple publishers. Between the huge layout and the packed aisles with fans, rushing around the convention floor didn’t make much sense as we also tried to enjoy the event a little. So the decision was made to streamline the interviews we were going to conduct at SDCC by focusing on one publisher. From our previous enjoyable experience at NYCC 2017, it was a no-brainer to feature Dark Horse Comics.

One of our interviews was with writer Aubrey Sitterson and artist Fico Ossio to discuss their recent collaboration NO ONE LEFT TO FIGHT, which kicked off its 5-issue miniseries on July 3rd at Dark Horse.

If you’re a fan of Dragon Ball, other fight manga, or just some exciting action and adventure, look no further than Sitterson & Ossio’s miniseries, which is flying off the shelves. It would be easy to assume that the incredible response can be attributed to the massive fanbase of DBZ and similar animation & manga. Though it drew inspiration for their book, what really stands out (more than Ossio’s intense, eye-popping colors) is the passion Aubrey and Fico have for the genre. Page after page, the heart put into this series radiates throughout. The energy of the characters and visuals is only outdone by that of the creators. When creators love what they are producing and are huge fans themselves, that is when you know that you will definitely get value and enjoyment by purchasing the comic. It’s a recipe for success for everyone involved: the creative team, the fans & readers, and for Dark Horse Comics.

So take a look at the details of NO ONE LEFT BEHIND #1, check out the preview pages, and then sit back and chill as we chat with creators Aubrey Sitterson & Fico Ossio at the Dark Horse Comics booth at SDCC 2019!
