[Video Interview] SDCC 2019: Phillip Sevy of Dark Horse Comics’ TRIAGE – The Sci-Fi Epic Arrives This September

PopCultHQ made an appearance for a couple of days at this year’s 50th Annual Comic Con International: San Diego 2019. Knowing our time was limited, we knew we couldn’t spread ourselves too thin by conducting interviews from multiple publishers. Between the huge layout and the packed aisles with fans, rushing around the convention floor didn’t make much sense as we also tried to enjoy the event a little. So the decision was made to streamline the interviews we were going to conduct at SDCC by focusing on one publisher. From our previous enjoyable experience at NYCC 2017, it was a no-brainer to feature Dark Horse Comics.

[Editor’s note: Phillip’s surname is pronounced “See Vee” or “C-V.” It will be brought up in the video, but I figured mentioning it now would help in reading the following intro.]

One of our interviews was with writer/artist/future legend Phillip Sevy (The Freeze, The House, Tomb Raider) to discuss his upcoming five-part, sci-fi epic at Dark Horse Comics.

Written, penciled, inked, AND colored by the veteran comic book guru, the series asks, “What do you do when all existence hinges on you?” The Tomb Raider & Tomb Raider: Inferno artist’s book explores the idea of how we measure up when standing beside heroes and legends. Given Sevy has been involved with a number of projects encompassing genres such as fantasy, adventure, and science fiction, Phillip will most definitely create a beautiful medley of sci-fi goodness certain to make a huge splash at Dark Horse. Don’t sleep on this series, folks! Based on the early buzz regarding TRIAGE, and the passion and experience from the creator, don’t be surprised if issue one sells out!
