Movie News: In Theaters This Week – August 30, 2024

A holiday weekend is upon us in the US, bringing about the unofficial end to summer. If you don’t already have plans, you should consider taking in one of the new movies debuting. In theaters this week are a horror film about a family selected to test a new home digital assistant designed to anticipate their needs, even to the point where it makes sure no one gets in her family’s way; a biopic on the life of former US President Ronald Reagan, a drama about a Japanese business man who takes a business trip to a Montana cattle ranch only to find himself on an unwitting journey of self-discovery; a heart-warming tale about a Little League team that dedicates their season to a player’s dying father, only to find themselves accomplishing the impossible and reaching the World Series, and much more!

The Curtis’ family is selected to test a new home device: a digital assistant called AIA. AIA learns the family’s behaviors and begins to anticipate their needs. And she can make sure nothing – and no one – gets in her family’s way.
