‘Hawkeye’ Bursts Into The Spotlight In First Trailer

Clint Barton may not have had a front seat during his appearances in Marvel movies thus far, but the new Disney+ series Hawkeye is all about the eponymous Avenger. Sure, he’s had his own storylines, including the very dark turn he took after Thanos’ snap, but he’s never quite been at the forefront like some of his other teammates.

All that is about to change with the arrival of the first trailer for his new series on Disney+.

The trailer starts out with Clint trying to make up for missed time with his kids by taking a trip with them to New York City. But soon enough things start to go awry when someone else starts showing up around the city wearing his old suit and his past starts to catch up with him.

This other person is not named in the trailer, but if you know anything about the series or Hawkeye from the comics, you know that this is Kate Bishop, the other Hawkeye. What follows looks like a rollicking good time set in New York City during the holidays. The trailer is filled with call outs to Matt Fraction‘s run of comics with the character, including the classic black and purple suit updated for today, Lucky the pizza dog, and mob guys in tracksuits!

Plus, if you caught one the post-credits scene at the end of Black Widow, you know that Yelena Belova (played by Florence Pugh) may be paying a visit!

Here is the official synopsis for the series:

Disney+ and Marvel Studios invite you on an unexpected holiday getaway, unwrapping a brand-new teaser trailer and poster today for “Hawkeye,” a new series set in post-blip New York City. Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, “Hawkeye” also features Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. Helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie, “Hawkeye” debuts exclusively on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.

We still have a little while to wait until Hawkeye premieres, but thankfully not too long! Hawkeye premieres on Disney+ November 24.
