Wizard World Chicago began its four-day event in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center on Thursday, August 23rd. Unfortunately, it was a slow day.
The celebrity area was practically a graveyard, though there were a few faces present. Nichelle Nichols had a decent line, and most of the wrestlers were also present and seemed to have a continuous stream. I also saw David Alpay and Christy Carlson Romano. Artist Alley was slow as artists continued trickling in to do their setup; about a quarter of them still seemed to be missing, but they should be there today.
This was definitely the day to go in if there was something specific you wanted to buy. The crowds were low, the vendors and artists were enthusiastic, and you had space and time to browse.
