Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) 2023 was held over the weekend of March 2nd-5th and brought an estimated 75,000 people to the Seattle area. These four-days of eye-popping, pop culture moments were held in the Seattle Convention Center’s brand new Summit Building expansion mfor their 20th anniversary celebration.
This year’s convention returned to its traditional March timeframe, after the Covid interruptions, and next year’s event will continue in the spring tradition with the announcement of next year’s dates, February 29- March 3.
This is one of those conventions where even if you cloned yourself, you still couldn’t keep up with everything going on. The activities were almost endless – panels, vendors, photo shoots, classes, a live reenacted Rocky Horror Picture Show, a Doctor Horrible sing-along, cosplay karaoke, anime screenings, a prom-style dance, or you could just shop the vendors. That doesn’t even include the variety of things involving the celebrity guests or artist alley – there is even more to do there.
We might not have attended the panels, screenings, or any of the million other activities, but thanks to Anthony Macasieb, we get to see some of the great cosplay that was on-site.
