BlerDCon is an annual celebration of Black nerd culture held annually in Crystal City, Virginia at the Hyatt Regency. This was the seventh year for this event and it seems to be getting bigger and better each year.
Typical convention problems did haunt the event such as scheduling issues, undertrained staff, and overcrowding. The general consensus is that it is time for this convention to move on to a larger facility. The other big complaint I have found in several areas was regarding music; several found the lyrics inappropriate for family areas with minors present.

In general, this is a popular convention with a huge variety of cosplay and thanks to Malcolm Sears Jr. we get to see some of the costuming that was on-site.
