Chicago TARDIS was once again held at The Westin Chicago Lombard and I attended on behalf of PopCultHQ.com.
There was a lot to do from listening to creators and actors’ panels on a variety of subjects about the series, to a screening room, where if you’re tired you can sit back and watch Doctor Who (how suiting). The vendor hall offered a variety of Doctor Who-themed merchandise from custom creations of artists, to the fan group, Chronicles of Who, giving away fudge.
The only disappointment I can think of was the lack of a Dalek Alley this year. Every year there are Daleks that litter one hallway across from the sign up booth, but this year there was none.
My time at Chicago Tardis was a good one. I met so many amazing people there that were passionate about the series. The community there was kind and welcoming: no matter what you cosplayed, they were nice to you. The Doctor Who fans are non-judgmental and are more than happy to see any and all forms of Doctor costuming. This is a small convention that will take less than an hour to see all of it, but the people there make it worth staying days.
