 PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:

Spy Seal #4

The Corten-Steel Phoenix: Season Finale”

Writing:

Every great spy story needs that final, big smash ending. Rich gives readers such an ending and wraps up all the varied plot elements for Spy Seal’s first adventure nicely. There are all the hallmarks of any great espionage story finale: the hero, the villains, a female agent, support from HQ, action, etc. Rich really tapped into the spy story core with this first series and delivered a real grand project.

Art:

Throughout the entirety of the series, Rich’s art has remained constantly fantastic. While it may seem simple to some, it has a certain complexity to it, not unlike the work in Hergé’s ‘Tin-Tin’ stories. This provides brilliant layouts and quality panels of artwork that made every issue of Spy Seal’s inaugural series an action-packed and enjoyable one.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

Rich Tommaso’s first outing in the realm of spy comics made a real splash. He poured his heart and a lot of dedication into every issue and it showed. Fans of the comic won’t have long to wait, Spy Seal will return next year for round two in the world of espionage. Until then, make sure to pick up a copy of Issue #4 and enjoy!

PopCultHQ’s Rating:

5 Out of 5 Stars
