Silence of God #1

SoG2A dark, gritty, and sometimes haunting look at the lengths a man will go to avenge the only one he lived for. Would you make a deal with Death to see a family member’s killer be brought to justice?

Death lingers and looms in the darkness. A man mourns the loss of the only thing he had in this world… his daughter. Before she takes him next, Death bestows Eric Block with immortality for one week to do anything he has to do to seek revenge. Eric is a man driven, focused, determined, and he won’t let ANYBODY get in his way.

SoG3I was pleasantly surprised with what I found between the covers of this issue. Massimo Rosi has laid the foundation with great potential to be a long running series. Rosi artistically blended a father’s intense passion for revenge, a man’s faith versus Death, and if given immortality, the onslaught which would ensue. Just a heads up, this book is very graphic in nature. Artist Stefano Cardoselli has real talent in capturing the somber feel of Rosi’s story. His sharp lines, excellent shading, and intense imagery are a perfect compliment to the story being told.

I would love to read the next issue and see what unfolds. Issue two, if done well, should launch this series for the long term. Personally, I hope we next see Eric possibly struggling with his faith or the fact he made a deal with Death. Highly recommend this premiere issue.
