The mystery surrounding who will portray James Bond has been revealed… 31-year old British actor Theo James. The actor who has been featured in Underworld: Awakening, Divergent, Insurgent, and Allegiant officially replaces Daniel Craig as the new 007.
James was up against quite a list of names of people interested or possible candidates, such as Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Emilia Clarke. The actor will release the first of a three-picture deal in February 2017. That’s the same year his next Divergent Series film Ascendant debuts. He is also set to reprise his role in the upcoming fifth Underworld film.
“When my agent called and first told me that I was being considered for the Bond role, I almost fell off my chair. But it is one of those roles that I have dreamt of playing ever since I was a little kid and I had to go for the audition. It seems it paid off and it feels like I am dreaming. This will be a blast.”
Pre-production of the 25th Bond movie is scheduled to begin in August. James will start shooting this September. The plot of the film is still unknown, but given a release date of February 2017, it shouldn’t be long before the storyline is revealed or pics from the set will make their way on the internet.
