Yes, size does matter. You know you are a “big” deal when your face is emblazoned on a display for thousands of people to view it each day. That’s exactly what happened for Grammy-winning artist Taylor Swift. The larger than life pop star had her image immortalized by way of the Lego. The Legoland Windsor Resort U.K. recently conducted a poll to its patrons asking which celebrity they would most want as their best friend. Edging out singer Ed Sheeran, the “Shake It Off” singer was the popular choice to have her likeness created at the park.
The daunting task to recreate Taylor’s image using the timeless Legos required 38,400 bricks and enlisted the help of guests to piece together this work of art over a weekend. The 8’4” high by 12’7″ long display was created by taking 600 separate sections and connecting them into one massive exhibit. Granted it pales in sheer numbers by the $100,000 in Legos bricks a father-daughter used to re-enact the movie Jurassic Park or the mind-numbing 250,000 brick-made Millenium Falcon made earlier this year (the largest ever created!). Check out these two masterpieces designed with everyone’s favorite childhood toy.
