Wrestlemania is the biggest wrestling event of the year. This will be a two-night event taking place on April 10th and 11th in Tampa, Florida. Wrestlemania 37 will be the first time since the pandemic that the show will have limited crowds in attendance. Viewers can watch on the Peacock App. The pre-show will start at 7PM ET, and the main show at 8:00 PM. This article will have the card lineup and my personal predictions. All the titles will be up for grabs over this two-day extravaganza.
Here are my first day predictions and not in any order:
Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon
There is no doubt that this is one of the worst feuds in WWE. The assumption is this is aimed at the kids (from the report card segment, to the Nickelodeon-esq slime, Strowman was accompanied by train “choo-choo” noises, etc.) This is all based on McMahon thinking that Strowman is stupid. The segments they had on Raw have been unbearable to watch and fans want it to end. McMahon is one of the most annoying characters on WWE and hopefully Strowman will look strong in this and beat him.
Prediction: Brawn Strowman for the win.
Raw Tag Team titles: The New Day vs. AJ Styles/Omos
The New Day are a very popular tag team and have been one of the most dominant tag teams in WWE. On the other hand, AJ Styles and Omos have never tag teamed. Omos was more of Style’s bodyguard than a wrestler. This match could be a way to put Omos over or as a start for them to eventually split up in the future. This will be a very entertaining match no matter the goal, since both teams are fun and silly.
Prediction: The New Day will retain their championships.
Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro
It is common knowledge that Cesaro is a talented wrestler but has not been booked well or seen much on WWE. His contract was recently up and fans were surprised that he stayed. Hopefully WWE recognized their almost missed opportunity and start pushing him for the better. Seth Rollins is a mega-star. He has been very entertaining as a flamboyant heel ever since he came back from paternity leave. He has such momentum now that a loss will not hurt him much. Assuming that this will be the match where Cesaro can begin his babyface push.
Prediction: Cesaro will win over Rollins.
Smackdown Women’s Championship:
Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair
These two women are some of the top female wrestlers, but disappointingly the build to this has not been great. Instead of setting them up to look unbeatable, they have been pinned several times and involved in a silly fight involving Reginald, the butler. Bianca Belair had a huge win during the Royal Rumble and deserves to be the top star. The match, without a doubt, will be great since both women can put on a show. Sasha Banks, unfortunately, did not have the greatest run as champion. If Belair wins, it can be a start to reestablish the importance of that title and turn Belair into the mega-star that she is. With that reasoning...
Prediction: Bianca Belair for the win.
Bad Bunny/Damian Priest vs. The Miz & Morrison
Bad Bunny, an award-winning Latin pop artist, made his debut on WWE at the Royal Rumble as a musical guest and has been appearing on Raw weekly alongside Damian Priest. At first, WWE was criticized for having a non-wrestler appear often on their shows. Regardless of your opinions of Bad Bunny, he brought a new audience and helped put over the newcomer Damian Priest (who debuted on Raw after leaving NXT). The Miz and Morrison have also been very entertaining during the feud. Recently, they made a silly music video mocking Bad Bunny. Miz and Morrison are veterans and hopefully in this match they will take good bumps to put the rising star, Priest, over.
Prediction: Bad Bunny and Damian Priest for the win.
WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre
Last year during the pandemic, Drew McIntyre won the WWE championship for the first time. It was also done in front of an empty arena. Even though he had a decent reign, Bobby Lashley was the crowd favorite. He has the look of a champion and he has been dominating the WWE roster. Lashley has been wrestling for over 15 years and never won the championship. When Bobby finally won the WWE Championship (even if it was off Miz who only carried it for about a week), fans were overjoyed. It would not be right to take the championship off Lashley. Even though Drew McIntyre is a huge star and draw, he already had his time.
Prediction: Bob Lashley will retain his title.
