Wrestlemania Night 2 airs on Sunda,y April 11th and can be watched on the Peacock App. The pre-show will start at 8:00 PM EDT. This article will have the card line-up and my personal predictions.
Here are my second day predictions and not in any order:
Women’s Tag Team Championship:
Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler vs. Natalya & Tamina
The WWE Tag Team division have not been great. They have been breaking up established teams and putting women together randomly. The Tag Team Turmoil match on night one was a set-up to this match. Natalya and Tamina won the Turmoil match and now earned their shot at the tag team titles. This match had no build and Jax and Baszler seem to have lost direction as champions, so my prediction is the belts will change hands.
Prediction: The new WWE Tag Team champions will be Natalya and Tamina.
United States Championship:
Riddle vs. Sheamus
This feud was made a few weeks ago. Sheamus had a lot of momentum and has been looking like a star since his feud against Drew McIntyre. At first, my pick (and hope) is Sheamus will win the title because he deserves it, but recently Riddle have been given a “new” entrance. It seems that WWE may have more plans for Riddle and it doesn’t feel that WWE is setting him up to lose. Riddle also recently won this title.
Prediction: Riddle will retain his belt.
Intercontinental Championship:
Big E vs. Apollo Crews
Big E has been a great champion. Since he split from The New Day and became a singles wrestler, he has been a star. Apollo Crews, with his new Nigerian Gimmick, looks unstoppable. He has had several losses to Big E already and has picked his own stipulation for this match (Nigerian Drums Match). Big E is the crowd favorite but because this is Crews’ type of match and that he lost to Big E in the past (if he loses again, his momentum will be stopped for good), the win will go to Crews and he will be the new Intercontinental Champion.
Prediction: Crews will be the new Intercontinental Champion.
Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn w/ Logan Paul
This is another match where a celebrity is involved. Logan Paul appeared on Smackdown a week ago. He is a huge YouTube star and was brought to WWE to bring younger and new viewers to the program. This short feud has been entertaining and no doubt Sami and Kevin (long time friends) will put on a great match. Kevin has been losing against Roman Reigns a lot. If Kevin wins this match, his momentum will end. While Sami’s gimmick is that WWE is working against him, Sami can lose with hilarious consequences.
Prediction: Kevin Owens will defeat Sami Zayn.
The Fiend w/ Alexa Bliss vs. Randy Orton
This feud has a lot of mixed feelings and a lot of criticism. This matchup was more “supernatural” than what most fans were use to involving fire, resurrection from the dead, teleportation, and more. Despite all of that, this has been one of the longest storylines of the year. The Fiend just came back on WWE television after being “burnt alive” a few months ago and The Fiend and Alexa Bliss have new looks. If Randy Orton beats The Fiend, this will bury his character for good.
Prediction: The Fiend wins by using some sort of magic or with Alexa Bliss’ help with Randy Orton.
Raw Women’s Championship: Asuka vs. Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley recently debuted after leaving NXT and has been pushed very hard to be WWE’s new rising star. Asuka has not been booked well despite being the Raw champion and struggled to find a decent feud. It is time to have a new champion. Ripley needs this to cement her stardom and it will give the belt a fresh new start. Rhea also have several dream matches lined up for her in the near future.
Prediction: Rhea Ripley will be your new Raw Women’s Champion.
Universal Championship:
Roman Reigns vs. Edge vs. Daniel Bryan
At first, many fans thought the main event was going to be Roman Reigns vs. Edge. Edge had an amazing win at the Royal Rumble, fans cheered hard when he returned to WWE after almost a decade out due to injury. Edge was the huge favorite. Then Daniel Bryan challenged for the title. Fans have been wanting Bryan to win ever since his comeback from forced retirement due to injury a few years ago. Bryan had a difficult journey back, which made fans root for him more. Edge recently turned heel despite being very loved by fans, so it would not feel right for a heel to win. Roman Reigns has been a great WWE champion and his new heel persona has been red hot. It would make sense for Roman to keep winning and continue to be the “head of the table.” But if WWE wants to make fans happy and leave Wrestlemania on a high note, they should give it to the babyface Daniel Bryan. This may be Bryan’s last full-time run in the WWE.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan will pin Edge for the win
(Roman Reigns can look strong in defeat and go after the title again claiming he never actually lost).
