Wizard World, Inc., the predominant producer of Comic Cons across North America, hosted a Hometown Heroes event in partnership with Travis Air Force Base today at the Sacramento Convention Center on Friday, June 17th.

Travis Air Force Base service members honored at the event included Staff Sgt. Spencer Stone, Maj. Virgil Steele, Master Sgt. Matthew Warren, Tech. Sgt. John Ayre, Staff Sgt. Johnathan Gales, Senior Airman Ian McGuigan, Airman 1st Class Tahj Beaudoin and Airman Sharnette Reyes.

Wizard World CEO John Maatta, COO Randy Malinoff, and all-star talent honored these service members who have gone above and beyond in the line of duty. Talent included Michael Cudlitz and Scott Wilson, known for their roles as Sergeant Abraham Ford and Herschel Greene, respectively, in the hit TV series The Walking Dead, Carroll Spinney, the voice of Big Bird, Dean Cain, who played Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Billy Boyd from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and “The World’s Largest Athlete,” WWE Superstar, Big Show.
