[Video] What We Watched: Fun Clips from the Past Week – September 28-October 4

While we’re all staying at home, a lot of us are watching things online. With the plethora of videos available, and more being created every day, it’s an enjoyable way to pass the time and bring a little fun into our lives. Some of these may be brand new, some may be older, but here are a few of the videos I enjoyed this week.

Auckland Zoo was recently blessed with a new baby rhino (the first in twenty years), and this video shows that even newborn rhino calves are anxious to explore their surroundings. Watching her zoom around her mother is certainly enough to bring a smile to your face!

When you combine fandom and artistry, the result can be a whole lot of fun. This entry for 2020’s virtual Aerialympics Advanced Pole Art features a performer setting her routine to the Force Theme from Star Wars while dressed as Rey. And would it truly be a Star Wars performance with the appearance of a lightsaber and everyone’s favorite BB unit?

A lot of times, a small good deed can go a long way. Parts of the western United States are experiencing terrible wildfires, with crews working around the clock to put them out and protect homes and families. A young boy decided to send a Baby Yoda toy to a donation location in an effort to bring the emergency workers a bit of joy. The toy has done just that, with the pint-sized alien makes its rounds among the camps, spreading lots of smiles wherever he goes.

Do you have a Baby Yoda toy of your own, but want that little bit of extra authenticity by giving him his own pod that actually flies? This video shows how one YouTuber put his together for a Black Series Baby Yoda figure. If you have the know-how on how to do this, it certainly adds more fun to your Mandalorian figures!

Some of the feats people can achieve are truly stunning, and reaching the top of one of the highest points on Earth is certainly among them. This short video gives a 360-degree perspective as climber Tim Howell reaches one of the peaks of the Matterhorn, walking the precarious ridge that straddles the Italian summit of Cervin, Italy and the Swiss peak of Zematt, Switzerland.

If you’re a fan of roller coasters, then this is just for you! Earlier this week, Universal Studios Orlando announced a new roller coaster ride for Jurassic World, the Velosicoaster. The short video looks like a roaring good time, filled with all the thrills of a good roller coaster and LOTS of dinosaurs!

‘Tis the season for seasonal treats like pumpkin pie, but what if it was made entirely of CAKE? This video shows Baked by Dan making a giant slice of pumpkin pie, comprised entirely of cake, fondant, and of course frosting. That is some serious artistry at work, but I hope it at least tastes like pumpkin!

If you’re a parent, or have to deal with small children in any way, then you know exactly how this zookeeper feels when all she wants to do is rake up some leaves, but the pandas just want to play!
