While we’re all staying at home, a lot of us are watching things online. With the plethora of videos available, and more being created every day, it’s an enjoyable way to pass the time and bring a little fun into our lives. Some of these may be brand new, some may be older, but here are a few of the videos I enjoyed this week.
Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek may no longer be with us, but episodes of the game show with him as host are still airing until Christmas Day. This past Thursday, he shared a heart-warming message for viewers which aired on Thanksgiving.
Christmas is less than a month away, and this dog getting all dressed up as an elf is just the thing needed to get me in the holiday spirit!
Baking is a pastime many enjoy doing with their families, but that has been made a little bit harder nowadays since we’re all supposed to be staying at home. Actress Jennifer Garner loves to call her mother every time she makes cornbread, and recently shared a video of her doing just that on Instagram, even sharing her family’s recipe. It’s a truly heart-warming video, showing the little things people do to keep in touch with those they love during these hard times.
Time is a strange thing. When we’re doing something we enjoy, it seems to just fly by, and the opposite can be true when we are performing less-than-enjoyable tasks. This video shows how countries around the world measure time differently, which is something I had never thought of.
Lots of virtual cast reunions these days are being used as fundraisers for essential charities, and the Legally Blonde reunion was no exception, raising money to help out World Central Kitchen. The charity works to help distribute meals to those in need. The reunion itself was a delight to watch – everyone seemed to enjoy reminiscing about making the film. It was great to hear that they were such great friends behind the scenes. The stars talk about a musical numbers that were cut, how they made each other want to be better actors, and how the positive message of the film really has taken hold in popular culture.
One of the best things an actor can be blessed with is to work on a project that they are not only passionate about, but they have also been a huge fan of their whole life. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is a Korean-Canadian actor who has been lucky enough to have that happen with his recent recurring role in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Not only is Lee a life-long Star Wars fan, but he has also built many of his own screen-accurate costumes from the films. The video below shows Lee talking about how he came to the role, and it truly is a delight to hear him talk about his dream coming to fruition and his experiences on set.
If you know your Star Wars trivia, you know that, while James Earl Jones provided the voice of Darth Vader, actor David Prowse was the physical embodiment of the Sith Lord. Prowse recently passed away, so to honor the actor, here is a short video clip from a Star Wars documentary where you can hear Prowse delivering Darth Vader’s lines while on set.
