[Video] Viewing Videos w/ Vicki – April 5-11

It’s safe to say that there are a lot of videos out on the internet. Even aside from streaming television shows and movies, entire websites and apps are built around creating and sharing videos, and we love sharing the ones we enjoy so that others might enjoy them as well. Here are some of the videos (both new and old) I’ve enjoyed watching the past week, and I hope you enjoy them as well!

Skiing and snowboarding are well-known winter pasttimes, but what about… snow kayaking? It hasn’t quite yet solidified itself as a popular winter sport, but kayaker Aniol Serrasolses is taking the aquatic sport to new heights in the video in partnership with energy drink company Red Bull. Serrasolses goes from a snowy mountain, though a patch of woods, and dropping into a river, ending with the world’s first “double kick-flip” in a kayak! The end of the video shows some the work that goes into performing such a stunt, including some of the wipeouts. Serrasolses’ Instagram post below also shows his top 3 crashes, some of which could have ended quite dangerously!

Jackie Chan is truly a legend in both martial arts and acting circles, and this compilation of Chan jumping over things truly is a delight!

Zoos are always creating new ways to keep their animals active and engaged, honing their natural skills and instincts, with the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Australia is no different. However, as this first video shows, sometimes something as simple as a branch is enough to put them in a playful mood! The second video also shows off the determination of the ottters as they work to free some leaves from a suspended metal ball.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is in full swing, having now aired its fourth episode. The video below shows and interview with Sebastian Stan talking about Bucky’s history in the MCU, the practicalities of playing a character with a metal arm, and just how often fans try to use the “activation words” with him.

Making a movie (especially one including lots of special effects) is a long process that can sometimes take years. This video talks about pre-visualization, a process that helps filmmakers visualize a scene before shooting and how to achieve the right look for a film, in the Marvel movies and how it helps throughout the making of the MCU.

If I asked you the number of loops on a Hot Wheels track held the world record, you might be surprised to learn that it’s a relatively low number of ten. However, that doesn’t mean that this feat no doubt required quite a bit of engineering know-how. This video of the attempt shows several points-of-view, and I think that my favorite is the on-board camera!

Who would have thought that you could turn electricity into an instrument? Telsa coils have been in the public consciousness for quite a while, but performing “Around the World” by EDM group Draft Punk truly takes this to a new level!

Delivering packages to homes has become an essential part of our society, allowing the exchanging of goods across long distances. It can often be hard work, but can also included an element of fun now and again. Seeing this delivery person having a little hopscotch fun is sure to brighten anyone’s day!
