When we first see the Millenium Falcon in A New Hope, the Corellian freighter has certainly seen better days. Upon spotting it, Luke Skywalker even exclaims, “What a piece of junk!” Solo: A Star Wars Story gives us a chance to see the ship in her prime, under the ownership of Lando Calrissian. The most stylish man in the galaxy clearly loved his ship before he lost it to Han Solo in a game of sabaac, keeping it in pristine condition and tricking it out with all sorts of customizations.
Actor Donald Glover takes us on tour of the ship, showing it off with great pride. The video highlights each area of the ship. It points out special details of each area, such as the patent leather seating in the common area. There is also a full-service wet bar, perfect for celebrating after a successful mission or one of the countless parties Lando likely threw. And of course, what party would be complete without a sound system to blast the galaxy’s hottest music?
However, the highlight of the tour has to be a glimpse at Lando’s personal cape closet. As Glover states, the man has a cape for every occasion – one for everyday wear, one for your sister’s wedding, one for Intergalactic President’s Day, and a fur-lined caped just in case someone gets cold!
Glover’s favorite part of the ship is the cockpit, more specifically the hyperdrive controls. He shows up just why it’s his favorite, zooming off and showing us the Millenium Falcon’s famous speed.
