With many people either stuck at home or still having to work amongst all that’s going on, it might feel like there’s not a whole lot of positive news out there. The Office and Jack Ryan star John Krasinski is looking to change that and make people smile with his new YouTube show called Some Good News. The first episode went up yesterday, preceded by a short teaser showing the sort of content that viewers can expect.

The whole thing was preceded by the actor asking his followers on Twitter for uplifting stories that might be getting lost in the deluge of news at the moment. He was so blown away by all the responses that he decided to make Some Good News. Krasinski is filming the show from the safety of his own home, and even features artwork by his daughter.

After watching the first episode, it would be hard not to have your faith in humanity restored. You’ll laugh, cry from happiness, and genuinely feel better. It’s full of so many wonderful moments that it would be hard to list them all, but some of the highlights include expressions of gratitude toward the healthcare workers working tirelessly every day, moments of kindness toward delivery workers, and an interview with a 16-year-old named Coco. Coco recently finished her last round of chemotherapy and was welcomed home with a parade of her friends and family (all from a safe distance, of course).

Krasinski also marked a special anniversary in the episode, celebrating 15 years since The Office premiered with his co-star Steve Carell, The two reunited via video chat and reminisced about some of their favorite moments of the series, including when they just couldn’t keep the laughter at bay.

When it’s easy to feel isolated, Krasinski does a fantastic job of reminding us that we’re all in this together, and that we’re still allowed to celebrate to triumphs in life, especially when they’re as big as Coco’s.

I’m certainly looking forward to many more installments of Some Good News, how about you?
