[Video] Jim Henson Teaches Puppetry in this 50-Year Old Footage

Jim Henson is a name that is very familiar to many of us. He is responsible for the Muppets and for many, is the grandfather of modern puppetry.

In 1969, Henson joined the children’s educational television program Sesame Street where he helped to develop characters for the series and develop the Muppets as we know them.

Shortly before joining Sesame Street (or shortly after) he made a television appearance alongside fellow muppet designer and builder Don Sahlin.

Join both of them for 15 minutes as they teach us how to make our own puppets, using household items such as socks, potatoes, tacks, tennis balls, rubber bands, and wooden spoons.

Watch it with your kids and you will have a great family project.
