[Video Interview] “Pants Optional” – Episode XXIX: Justin Zimmerman of THE KILLING JAR

Jason Bennett Avatar

“Pants Optional” is PopCultHQ’s Zoom video interview feature where we connect with individuals within the comic book community. It’s a way to see/hear what creators have been doing during the pandemic, projects which may be in motion during this downtime, and noteworthy events and happenings taking place in lieu of conventions, appearances, and the weekly NCBD grind.

For Episode XXIX, I spoke with Justin Zimmerman. The creator, who returned for the hat trick of appearances on Pants Optional, had his original graphic novel THE KILLING JAR optioned for development by Throttle Films. It is slated to be directed and produced by William Kaufman. Take a look at the response from critics and the synopsis of the story for Justin’s neo-horror western thriller!

A small Colorado town. Three drug runners with a van filled with product. Two police officers investigating suspicious activity. A heroic young woman with a violent past, an innocent little brother and her dead father’s .38 police special. And a throng of ravenous townspeople out of their minds with drug lust. Mix and … BANG!

PopCultHQ had the privilege in chatting with Justin about his graphic novel, his teaming with Throttle Films, and catching the eye of director/producer William Kaufman. Enjoy!
