[Video Interview] “Pants Optional” – Episode XVIII: Peter Ricq of GHOSTS ARE PEOPLE TOO

Jason Bennett Avatar

“Pants Optional” is PopCultHQ’s Zoom video interview feature where we connect with individuals within the comic book community. It’s a way to see/hear what creators have been doing during a quarantine, projects which may be in motion during this downtime, and noteworthy events and happenings taking place in lieu of conventions, appearances, and the weekly NCBD grind.

For Episode XVIII, we have a Kickstarter Spotlight Edition! I spoke with creator Peter Ricq about his first-ever illustrated book GHOSTS ARE PEOPLE TOO. The campaign, which is currently running and goes through Thursday, November 19th.

Hi there, spooky living people. Welcome to Ghosts Are People Too, a 42 page illustrated book about Ethan Alby, a simple ordinary ghost. Don’t be afraid! Ethan has a family—just like you. He likes playing with toys and his dog, Mini Ricky. Sometimes, though, Ethan gets scared. Can you blame him? Look around. Living people *are* scary.

In Ghosts Are People Too, Ethan shares what scares him, how difficult it is to share a home with a living girl he’s fallen for (when she doesn’t even know he exists), and why we shouldn’t be afraid of one another.

The book contains:

– 20 thrilling illustrations.

– 7 surefire ways to find a ghost.

– 3 true friendly ghost stories.

PopCultHQ had the privilege in sitting down with Peter about his campaign, his lovable ghost Ethan, and all things GHOSTS ARE PEOPLE TOO!

Special thanks to Peter Ricq for taking the time to speak with us. Be sure to follow Peter online (links below). And be sure to check out GHOSTS ARE PEOPLE TOO on Kickstarter, now through November 19th!
