“Pants Optional” is PopCultHQ’s Zoom video interview feature where we connect with individuals within the comic book community. Whether a Comic Book Spotlight, Publisher Spotlight, LCS Spotlight, or a Kickstarter Spotlight, the promotions are all about putting that spotlight on much-needed, well-deserved projects throughout the comic book industry.
For Episode XLV, I spoke with creator Christie Shinn. The writer/artist of DEMON BITCH has run other successfully funded and fulfilled graphic novel Kickstarters for her IP, such as “I Told You SO!”, “Off the Wagon PANHANDLING TOUR”, and “the FreeDumb Tour”. Her latest installment, ‘Triggered,’ is almost 130+ pages of comics and other artistic bullshit that is guaranteed to gross you out and make you laugh! You can back the campaign NOW through Friday, May 6th.
The newest graphic novel of Demon Bitch is called, “TRIGGERED”. It’s about almost 130+ pages of comics and other artistic bullshit that is guaranteed to gross you out and make you laugh!
This book was inspired by true events (like everything else) COVID-19 sucked for everyone and it brought out all the stupid. I got pro and anti-whatever and whomsoever and other bullshit people screaming and shaming at me in Dolby – then getting pointlessly mad and forgetting about it at all.
In addition to this delicious Kickstarter, I also am releasing a beta-level for people to playtest for a new venture in some of the rewards: ‘Demon Bitch: Demon Bitch: Disgusting Dump$ter Fire” which really is about her own life and the pointless shit she does to feel significant and it’s like a card game that you throw on a pile. Oh wait, that’s her about everything everyday.
So sit back and hear our chat about Christie’s latest crowdfunding project, how it was inspired by the pandemic, and her recent showing at WonderCon 2022!
Special thanks to Christie for taking the time to speak with us at PopCultHQ. Be sure to follow her online (links below). And do yourself a favor and support Demon Bitch’s ‘Triggered’ Kickstarter campaign!
