[Video] ‘Animaniacs’ Reboot Proves It’s Still Zany To The Max

In a world of reboots and reimaginations, it could be all too easy to write off the return of yet another TV show from years past as a cash-grab devoid of the property’s former charm. But in watching the trailer for the revival of Animaniacs, none of that seems true. The always irreverent cartoon even begins its first trailer with such an accusation by the returning trio of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot before dissolving into the utter zaniness that we all came to expect during the show’s initial run from 1993-1998.

Pinky and the Brain are also back in full glory, still full of plans for world domination. The quintet of characters have a lot of catching up to do in being out of pop culture the last 22 years, but they certainly seem up to the task. The brief glimpses we get in the trailer see them taking full advantage of the Internet Age, with jokes flying as quickly as ever.

“They’re back! The Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sister Dot, have a great time wreaking havoc and mayhem in the lives of everyone they meet. After returning to their beloved home, the Warner Bros. water tower, the siblings waste no time in causing chaos and comic confusion as they run loose through the studio, turning the world into their personal playground. Joining Yakko, Wakko and Dot, fan-favorite characters Pinky and the Brain also return to continue their quest for world domination.”

Animaniacs will air on Hulu beginning November 20, and sees the return of original cast members Rob Paulsen, Maurice LaMarche, Jess Harnell, and Tress MacNeille.
