TV and Movie Vehicles to Appear at Wizard World Chicago

Wizard World Chicago will be upon us in two short weeks, and while many attendees will be looking forward to the celebrity and cosplay guests, the convention will also have a number of vehicles, some of which have actually been used in movies or tv series we know and love. The vehicles will be available for photo opportunities all weekend.

One of the most iconic movie vehicles is obviously the DeLorean Time Machine from Back to the Future. This replica has been driven by Christopher Lloyd himself and helps raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

If you’ve seen the film MegaForce starring guest Barry Bostwick, then this buggy and motorcycle will certainly look familiar to you. The vehicles that will be at the convention are screen-used and still have many of their original parts.

The Scout-1 has been pictured in the book The Apocalypse of Enoch – Desolation was originally created by the fan group Z.O.D., and has now become a crucial part of the Apocalypse story created by author Shane Moore.

Fans of Supernatural will immediately recognize the 1967 Chevy Impala as the vehicle driven by the Winchester brothers in the show. This screen accurate replica has every detail down to the Legos in the vent, and little green army man in the ashtray. The trunk is also fully stocked with every weapon you could possibly need to fight evil.

If you know the show Stranger Things, then you no doubt recognize the Byer’s living room. You will be able to visit this set recreation and possibly even get a message from the Upside Down!

In the first Iron Man film, Robert Downey Jr. himself landed on this 1965 Shelby Cobra. You can also see one of the six shields used by Chris Evans in Captain America: First Avenger, signed by the entire cast of Winter Soldier and Marvel’s Agents of Shield, as well as Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern ring used in the Green Lantern film and mocked in the Deadpool film.

Alongside the Shelby Cobra, you can also see the Ghost Rider Hell Cycle used by Nicholas Cage in the first Ghost Rider film.

Speed Racer is all about the cars, so come and see the Supercharged Mach 5 for yourself! In episode 2, “The Great Plan,” and again in episode 26, “The Car Hater,” an overview of the Mach 5’s control panel both enlightens and reminds us of the beauty of this truly remarkable machine. The hub of the Mach 5’s steering wheel features seven lettered buttons, each of which activates a customized accessory designed by Pops Racer.

Over the years, Batman has driven quite a few different Batmobiles, but the 1966 Batman series starring Adam West and Burt Ward started off the trend of iconic run of vehicles for the Caped Crusader. Come see this vehicle for yourself and admire its many features including the front nose mounted aluminum chain slicer, lasers, monitors, an on-board computer, police beacon, and even an on-board telephone better known as the “BATPHONE”.

When Harry Potter and Ron Weasley missed the Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, they decided to commandeer Fred Weasley’s flying Ford Anglia in order to get to school. The vehicle that will be at the convention has not seen screen time, but has been restored to its original color and enhanced with details that evoke the charm and humor of the vehicle’s various television and film moments. A visit with the car includes the opportunity to dress up with costumes and props for a fun photo op experience.

This 1976 AMC Pacer will immediately appeal to the inner Garth or Wayne of any Wayne’s World fan. It is a replica of the one used in Wayne’s World 2. It features flame decals and a licorice dispenser mounted to the headliner. A photo shoot with the car gives you a chance to relive your favorite screen moments both inside and outside the car with costumes and props.
