Universal Pictures’ Furious 7 smoked it off the starting line with a global box office grab of $384M!

Furious 7’s $384M is the fourth best opening weekend at the worldwide box office ever. Stateside, the film pulled in $143.6M, which set the highest April debut ever and guess what?! Furious 7 still hasn’t opened in three major markets: Russia, Japan and China! Furious 7 is on pace to become the first film in the Fast and Furious series to crack the billion dollar mark!

On the heels of that great news Universal Pictures has just officially released a new music video for “See You Again,” which is a collaboration between Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth. Which Vin Diesel, Paul’s co-star or 5 of the franchise films posted the video to his Facebook page today, along with this very touching message to go along,

“Pablo, this weekend you turned the world into a family… Thanks for the love…” – Vin Diesel

But is this playing too much into the death of Paul for promotion for the movie? Is it done in bad taste? I don’t think so. Since the Paul Walker family has been heavily involved with the FF franchise, the family has given full responsibility to the film studio, director and it’s actors. All the family wants is for Paul to be remembered and this movie and video have done very honorable.

The first part of the video is a montage of Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth performing, along with various Fast & Furious scenes featuring Paul Walker. However, near the end of the video, the footage is shown of Paul Walker on the beach with his family, and his one last drive with friend and co-star Vin Diesel. The drive and close up of Paul Walkers face were done with CGI magic and Paul’s younger brother playing the part of his older brother. CGI teams superimposed Pauls face onto his brothers and the final scene will never be forgotten. We love and miss you Paul Walker!!

Fast and Furious 7 is in theaters now.
