The comic book Preacher by Garth Ennis and the late Steve Dillon is a fast-paced, humorously blasphemous comic that blends comedy, horror and fantasy into a gritty thriller. When AMC picked it up for a TV adaption people were thrilled, but once they started watching it….not as much.
It was good, it just didn’t have the same ‘punch’ as the comics. It was missing the fast action and humor and seemed to focus more on character introduction. It really didn’t have much to do with the comics until the end of the season
It looks like things have changed with Season 2. The trailer seems to give us everything we were missing in Season 1 as Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy head out on a road trip to find God. We are promised barfights, gunfights, supernatural powers, drugs, booze and so much more…making it seem like perhaps Preacher has come to the small screen.
