Slated to hit theaters two and a half weeks from now, the next film in Marvel’s “Stage 2” is prime to be a summer blockbuster. But recently, one of the actors described the difficulty in studying their particular character… that person is Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne).
Evangeline Lilly admits she was not familiar with Ant-Man of her role as Hope Van Dyne (the daughter of Dr. Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne). She had been given some Ant-Man comics to read/study but her response was not very enthusiastic,
“I am still trying to figure out how to get my hands on original ‘Ant-Man’ comics, where you get them. I’ve been given a couple recent ‘Ant-Man’ comics. No offense Marvel, but they are total crap. I really want to read the original ones, because I got through two and I was like, dude, you can’t force-feed me another one of these magazines. It was terrible. But Janet’s not in them, and neither is Hank and neither is Scott. It’s just a completely different fabrication. So if anybody has any old ‘Ant-Man’ comics they want to lend me…”
I’m kind of thinking these issues may be of help Evangeline:
The synopsis for the film is as follows…
With the ability to shrink in size but grow in strength, a con man (Paul Rudd) must help his mentor (Michael Douglas) protect the secret of his Ant-Man suit and pull off a heist that will save the world.
“Ant-Man,” directed by Peyton Reed, stars Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne and Corey Stoll as Darren Cross/Yellowjacket. Although there will be a screening tonight at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, look for it in theaters on July 17th, 2015. The theatrical trailer can be viewed below.
