Portal 2
Portal 2 is the legendary puzzle game from Valve. It has two modes: single-player and cooperative, each with its own story. The main campaign is about Chell, a lab technician trying to escape from the Aperture Science center. She is hindered by GLaDOS, the artificial intelligence controlling the complex.
Trying to escape, the heroine travels to different laboratories of the center and performs tests prepared by insidious GLaDOS. She is aided in this by a portal gun, a device that allows her to create portals in two different locations and move between them.
In cooperative mode, too, you have to pass the tests with portals, but it has a different storyline and main characters. Players take control of two robots – ATLAS and P-Body – and perform the new GLaDOS tests. Tasks in this mode are more complicated, so players will have to discuss every step.
Cuphead
Two brothers have lost a huge amount of money in the Devil’s own casino. Now the heroes are forced to make a deal with him: they find and defeat the Devil’s other debtors in order to avoid going to hell themselves. The brothers embark on a dangerous journey through the fairy-tale world in search of enemies.
Visually Cuphead reminds players of Disney cartoons of the 1930s-1940s: the developers also drew the backgrounds and animated the characters by hand. But behind the cute appearance is one of the most complicated games of the last few years. Opponents deal a lot of damage and constantly change tactics, and the heroes have only three health points. If you die three times, you start the level all over again.
Borderlands 3
Lawlessness reigns on the desert planet of Pandora. Four companions must find the great Vault, a treasure trove filled with valuable weapons and other equipment. Standing in their way are the Calypso twins, leaders of the Children of the Vault cult. They want to find Pandora’s Treasury so they can take it all for themselves. Together the heroes have to defeat the twins and get to the untold riches.
The Borderlands series is referred to by its creators as a “looter shooter.” This is a subgenre, where you need not only shoot at enemies, but also to look for special items for your character – the so-called loot. The better the loot, the stronger the character.
In every corner of Pandora, you can find weapons and shields of different values. And there are literally millions of combinations of guns. They are generated randomly and make the gameplay more interesting: you never know what gun you’ll pick up. And you can find both the traditional machine guns and shotguns, as well as grenade launchers that kill opponents with burgers, or weapons that shoot other weapons.
The game can be played entirely by a company of four people for four characters with unique abilities and characteristics. Some use gadgets and turrets, while others have superpowers like lightning or portals.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Super soldier John-117, better known as Master Chief, saves humanity time and time again from invaders from the alien Covenant Alliance. Players have come to love this saga because it gives them a sense of the battlefield – all thanks to its well-tuned gameplay, large open levels, and clever opponents.
The Master Chief Collection is an ultimative compilation for anyone who wants to get to know Halo. It includes not only the numbered games in the series, but also offshoots that go deeper into the universe, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach.
The story campaigns of all Halo installments, with the exception of the recent Halo Infinite, can be completed in pairs. The co-op experience is pretty much the same as the single player experience, except the second player doesn’t appear in the videos or participate in the story.
