1766 – first fire escape patented, it was a wicker basket on a pulley & chain
1820 – The Venus de Milo is discovered on the Aegean island of Milos
1879 – Milk sold in glass bottles for the first time
1959 – The Common Business-Oriented Language or COBOL was created. It was primarily designed by a woman, Grace Hopper.
1965 – “TIME” magazine featured a cover with the entire “Peanuts” comic gang

2001 – Microsoft Corp. released Internet Explorer 6.0
