Stallone to Walk Away From the Expendables Franchise?

Recent reports have action movie star Sylvester Stallone walking away from the Expendables franchise. According to Deadline, it is because of disagreements between himself and producer Avi Lerner. The two could not agree on several issues including the script and the director.

Deadline reports that this is not the first disagreement the two have had and according to Deadline, Lerner acknowledged that there were issues, “We’ve got disagreements with Sly, but we’ve had them for over a year and a half,” he told Deadline. “Right now, each one has an opinion. We agreed on 95% of things, but there are certain things in production we don’t agree on. I don’t think it’s over, but write whatever you want. In my opinion, it’s not dead.”

It’s uncertain what will happen with the Expendables franchise at this point as Stallone has co-written all the movies.

The interesting part is that Sylvester Stallone is not listed on the IMDB entry for Expendables 4Gregory Poirier is listed as the screenwriter and the only starts listed are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Statham.
