This book is a facsimile edition of the classic Coronet edition Peanuts paperback book collects 128 pages of classic comic strips taken from the 1960s.

Oh good grief! Once again, good ol’ Charlie Brown and the gang are here to delight readers once more. One hundred twenty-eight pages of pure, wholesome fun, reprinted by the good folks at Titan Comics. And all to remind us again what a brilliant Charles Schulz had to produce Peanuts for over 50 years. So take hold of that security blanket, and settle down for a relaxing time with Charlie Brown and company.

Writing:

Schulz’s plots may appear simplistic but there was always something special about them. Intertwining the halcyon days of childhood with dialogue about society, religion, and pop culture was a gift like no other. Additionally, Schulz was unafraid to throw in clever bonmots to tick everyone’s funny bones. And more often than not, his characters made us stop and think about the world at large in meaningful ways. Here’s to you, Mr. Schulz.

Art:

What can I say about Charles Schulz and his art style that has yet to be said? He brilliantly defined comic strips for generations. A whole world of laughs, adventure, and memories sprang from the mind and pen/pencil of this singular individual. From the backyard to the baseball diamond to nameless summer camps by a lake to Lucy’s psychiatry booth. He compounded the excitement of being a kid in a four-panel format five days a week. Never shall the like of him be seen again.

Overall Assessment:

It is always a delight to take a trip down memory lane. Going back to the days of yesteryear, when Peanuts was one of the best regular comic strips in newspapers. Charles Schulz and Charlie Brown were household names, and together, they made the world a better place through the power of laughter. I highly recommend you pick up this book and add it to your comics library. You can never go wrong with good old Charlie Brown.
