The BIG SEXY, brings down the house in this week’s Lip Sync Battle on Spike TV. Listed at 7′ ft 1″ in tall and weighing 325 pounds, Shaq is one of the biggest players ever to play in the NBA. O’Neal played for six teams throughout his 19-year NBA career, and won 4 Championships. But Shaquille O’Neal’s basketballs skills came to play in another way when he absolutely killed his second round battle, recreating one of the 80’s most iconic movie scenes. “Flashdance” The film was released in April 1983 and danced its way into countless little girls hearts around the world. The tale of a young Pittsburgh welder, Alex Owens (Jennifer Beals), who works long and hard in a steel mill by day. Then when no one is looking, she frees her soul and strips by night. Alex pulls off an amazing dance audition looking for a spot at the local ballet school. At home she trains her moves in torn off-the-shoulder tops and thigh-high leg warmers, but onstage she morphs into the mesmerizing stripper Cinderella.
Some little known trivia for our fans of PopCultHQ; Marine Jahan was Jennifer Beals‘ body double for the dancing scenes. Jahan was kept hidden from the press because the filmmakers did not want to ruin the “illusion” of the film. Alex’s leap through the air in the audition scene was done by gymnast Sharon Shapiro and the break-dancing was done by Crazy Legs.
