See ‘Gaston’ Sung Live, and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Music Video

As the release for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast movie comes ever closer, we get more sneak peeks and interesting details. At a recent press conference for the movie, actors Luke Evans (Gaston) and Josh Gad (LeFou) joined composer Alan Menken in singing the pompous character’s titular song in it’s entirety.

There are some noticeable changes in the lyrics, including omitting the lyric “And every last inch of me’s covered in hair!” This is understandable, as it could be considered too risque for the movie’s “family friendly” target audience.

There has also been several additions, which one commenter transcribed as:

Who plays darts like Gaston?
Who breaks hearts like Gaston?
Who’s much more than the sum of his parts like Gaston?

I needed encouragement, thank you, LeFou
Well there’s no one as easy to bolster as you

When I hunt I sneak up with my quiver
And the beasts on the field say a prayer
First I carefully aim for the liver
Then I shoot from behind (Is that fair?) I don’t care!

Who has brains like Gaston, entertains like Gaston?
Who can make up these endless refrains like Gaston?

Last month, Disney also released a clip of the song in the movie, which you can see here:

Finally, today the DisneyMusicVevo channel released a music video for the movie’s song “Beauty and the Beast”. Singers Ariana Grande and John Legend both perform in the video, and footage of Emma Watson‘s Belle and Dan Stevens‘s Beast dancing are inter-cut.
